Sunday Evening
Plan to join us Sunday evening after the conference Opening Session for a Welcome Reception in the hotel’s Barny Allis Lobby and Tea Room. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, good conversation, and live music staged in the lobby of Kansas City’s historic Muehlebach Hotel. The Muehlebach opened its doors in 1816; it was the choice of lodging for scores of presidents and other celebrities who visited K.C. It was known as Harry Truman’s White House-away-from-the-White House during President Truman’s tenure in office.

In a COMTEC tradition, the Doug Talley Quartet will provide the rich sound of Kansas City jazz as background music for the reception. This award winning music group breathes life into both standards and original compositions with their colorful harmonies and strong rhythms – hallmarks of great acoustic jazz.

Monday Evening
Monday evening is an “open” evening. There are no conference sessions planned. So you are free to explore, take a walk, or just kick back and relax in your room with a good book.

Before you get too comfortable, however, keep in mind that the Marriott Hotel is just few blocks from the Power & Light District, Kansas City’s new arts and entertainment district. Walk a few blocks to explore KC’s newest dining and entertainment hotspots.

Tuesday Evening
After Tuesday’s sessions, we’ll all board a bus to the Uptown Theater for dinner and some special musical entertainment. Forget that Kansas City’s weather may be cooler in November or that we’re 1,500 miles from the nearest ocean. Tuesday’s “Have a Ball Beach Party” is the hottest ticket in town!

Imagine taking your “Little Deuce Coup” to “Diamond Head” for some “Good Vibrations,” some “Fun, Fun, Fun” or just to “Catch a Wave!” Don’t miss this opportunity to let your hair down and your excitement grow.
