TouchNet to Donate Scholarships at Spring 2009 Conferences

TouchNet has changed its approach to tradeshow drawings and hospitality events this year.

In the past, TouchNet would have invited attendees to a Hospitality Event, or enticed them to its booth with descriptions of fabulous booth prizes.

But times have changed. This year, the company is not spending money on hospitality events or giving away the latest gadgets at its booth. Instead, TouchNet is redirecting those dollars to fund “TouchNet Scholarships.” During key tradeshows and conferences this Spring, TouchNet will register attendees’ schools and then donate $1,500 to the winning schools’ general scholarship funds. Ten Scholarships will be awarded during the Spring show season.

“It’s a different world, now,” says John Murphy, Vice-President of Sales. “This seems like a much better use of resources –for colleges and universities and for us. After all, now more than ever, every dollar counts.”
