Sheridan College Adds Mobile ID for Android with TouchNet

LENEXA, Kan. – TouchNet, a Global Payments (NYSE: GPN) company, has expanded its OneCard Mobile ID for Android to Canada. After a successful rollout of mobile IDs in Apple Wallet, Sheridan College is launching its onecard for Android ahead of the Fall semester through TouchNet’s OneCard Mobile ID and 360u app.

Full-time Sheridan students can conveniently and securely add their Sheridan onecard to their Android smartphone to complete any action they would previously complete with their physical Sheridan onecard – from accessing classrooms, utilizing dining services and meal plans to making purchases at bookstores and more. Once the Sheridan onecard is added to a student’s Android mobile device, it serves as their official student ID and enables students to tap to enter or tap to pay. This is done through integrations with TouchNet’s Campus ID and 360u app, and HID’s Mobile SEOS credential and connected devices.

Sheridan College recently received Honorable Mention from the Canadian Association of University Business Officers’ (CAUBO) Quality and Productivity Awards Program for becoming the first college in Canada to launch a fully-functional mobile student ID program. They achieved this last year thanks to the launch of the Sheridan onecard in Apple Wallet, which is enabled through TouchNet’s 360u app.

TouchNet’s OneCard Mobile ID is available for Apple and Android through either a college or university’s existing mobile app or TouchNet’s 360u mobile app, which streamlines the experience for all users. Additionally, OneCard Mobile ID offers: secure transactions that protect users’ data; better on-campus security through improved access management; and advanced reporting of student activities, payments, and point-of-sale transactions through an aggregated method that also protects each user’s privacy.
